How Much Does it Cost to Buy a Bio-Ethanol Fire in 2024?

Are you curious about bio-ethanol fires and how much it would cost to install one? Have you noticed a significant variation in cost from product to product when researching online? In this article we will inform you on what impacts the cost of a bio-ethanol fire, why each brand of bio-ethanol fire differs in cost and where the bio-ethanol fires we sell stand. What impacts the cost of a bio-ethanol fire?

Like anything you purchase in life the cost can significantly differ. From the car you drive, the food you eat, the clothes you wear, the appliances you have around your house, each comes with a price tag and that price tag is largely impacted by quality. Fires, and in this instance bio-ethanol fires, are no exception. Quality is largely what impacts the cost of a bio-ethanol fire. We’ll discuss why various fireplace companies differ in price further in this article which directly relates to quality.

Another impact in the cost of a bio-ethanol fire is the model and size. As expected, a larger model will cost more than a smaller model. For reference, our Planika Prime Fire 590mm burner is £2,640 whereas the larger 1190mm model is £5,598.

Another important aspect which impacts the cost of a bio-ethanol fire is it’s technology and tank size.  In the Planika range which we are authorised dealers of, there are two types of fire: the FLA & FLA+ family and the Prime Fire family. The main difference in these two products are that the FLA/FLA+ ranges have a longer burn time due to a larger fuel tank capacity. This means that the amount of times you need to refill the fire is significantly less than with a FLA/FLA+ in comparison to a Prime Fire. The FLA/FLA+ family also boast features such as a touch screen control panel, service module, child lock and mobile app. Of course, with an increase in technology comes an increase in price. The Prime Fire 1190mm is £5,598, the FLA4 is £7,710 and the FLA4+ is £9,312.

Why do different brands of bio-ethanol fire differ in price?

The reason that different brands of bio-ethanol fire differ in price goes back to the first point we mentioned, quality. If you have seen a cheap fire online then don’t wonder why the others are more expensive but rather, why is that one so cheap? Low-cost products are usually poor quality & lack the level of technology which is present in the more premium brands. By buying from a premium brand such as Planika or Chesneys you are guaranteed a much safer product and user-friendly experience.

Both Planika and Chesneys bio-ethanol fires are remote controlled, offering a safer & easier experience. Planika, in particular, has super intelligent technology. This starts with the re-fuelling process, which is automatically done by the fire. The fire will automatically stop once it has reached its capacity which feels safe and takes the guesswork out of whether you have overfilled the tank. It’s also powered by BEV technology which means the fire has no direct contact with the fuel.

This works by the device drawing only a small, necessary portion of fuel from the tank and transporting it to the vapour generator. There, a small amount of fuel is heated until it reaches a temperature where it turns into vapour, which is distributed throughout the burner and then burned.

The fire also cleverly has a microprocessor which communicates with several sensors inside the fireplace & controls its entire operation. The fire will inform you of any activity with an audible signal and a message on the app. So, whether the fire needs refuelling, is too hot to re-fuel or has a technical fault, you will always be kept informed.

Before buying a bio-ethanol fire we would strongly urge you to see it and feel it in a local fireplace showroom & ensure to purchase from an authorised dealer of the product. Ask your questions to the experts and ensure you are buying a quality product that is going to offer the best & most enjoyable experience as well as providing longevity and optimal safety.
