Here is a simple but delicious recipe using minimal ingredients, nothing artificial and no refined sugar. The brownies are naturally sweetened using honey instead of sugar. Learn how to make chocolate and honey brownies cooked using an ESSE electric range cooker. This recipe is from Phillippa Vine.
Ingredients:
175g dark chocolate (we recommend Lindt 70% cocoa)
75g butter
2 eggs
6 tablespoons honey
50g plain flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
A pinch of salt
Equipment:
ESSE electric range cooker
Small cake tin
Baking paper
Measuring scales
Small saucepan
Wooden spoon or spatula
Method:
Step 1 – Preheat the oven to 180C. Line your cake tin with baking paper.
Step 2 – Melt the chocolate and butter in your saucepan on setting number 1 using the induction hob.
Step 3 – Once melted, beat in the eggs. Then, mix in your honey, flour, baking powder and salt until you have a smooth batter.
Step 4 – Add the mixture to your lined cake tin and then bake in the oven for around 30 minutes. It’s okay if they are slightly fudgy in the centre as they will continue cooking once removed from the oven. If the mixture is completely dry before removing, the texture can become more cake-like and therefore overcooked.
Step 5 – Cool, slice, serve and enjoy! We like to serve ours with fresh raspberries, thick greek yoghurt and a good coffee! And, of course, in front of the fire.
